PN MARIST FOOTBALL ACADEMY
"Football is played with the head, your feet are just the tools" - Andrea Pirlo
About our Academy
We are focused on creating a positive, engaging and nurturing environment to develop dynamic, balanced and passionate football players in the Manawatu region.
We believe that the teaching and developing of football skills and providing a positive academy environment will provide benefits to youth on and off the field.
The benefits to a player include;
-
Instilling a love of football
-
Building self-confidence and a fair play attitude
-
Building resilience and learning to win and lose with dignity
-
Learning teamwork and team play, collaboration and sacrifice
The youth are our future, and we are committed to providing pathways for developing players into the best that they can be.
We offer a Girls Group at our training sessions to provide the best development opportunities for upcoming female players.
Our Academy offers the pathways for all players, from junior to senior opportunities including the Phoenix Academy through to the Marist Men’s and Women’s Senior Teams who compete at the highest levels of any club in the Manawatu region.
Our objectives are; to build a skill base and love for the game that will prepare them for progression in their football and futsal pathways; to create a positive environment that any level of player from our region can learn, develop and grow; and to establish a strong and engaged connection between the players, coaches, parents and the club.
Our Partnership with Phoenix Football Club
We are proud to be the only Pre-Academy Centre Club in the Manawatu region and be able to offer this opportunity and pathways to aspiring players in the region.
As the only professional football club in New Zealand, the Wellington Phoenix have a responsibility to ensure all young Kiwis are given the opportunity to step on to the pathway to professional football.
The Pre-Academy Centre (PAC) programme is the first step on the Phoenix’s pathway for players aged 7-13 and is run in conjunction with twelve selected partner clubs across New Zealand.
As a partner club we will now be able to draw on the Phoenix’s pre-academy training programme and the club’s development centre, which is an online platform to develop players, parents and coaches. Every player in our programme will have access to this online platform to assist their development.
For young players in Manawatu region, serious about their football development journey, this is something you won’t want to miss out on.
We anticipate that the opportunities and benefits of the PAC partnership with Phoenix will only continue to evolve and strengthen over the coming years.
